Hoogendorn Holly is a compact, densely branched evergreen shrub with small, glossy dark-green leaves and a naturally rounded, spreading habit. This cold-hardy Japanese Holly stays relatively low and full, making it a useful alternative to boxwood for borders, foundation plantings, and low hedges.

‘Hoogendorn’ is easy to maintain and adapts to full sun or part shade. Like other Japanese Hollies, it prefers acidic, well-drained soil and average moisture. It is a male cultivar, so it does not produce the black berries found on female Japanese Holly plants.
